New entrance portico to a country house.
This house lies within the grounds of a large country estate in the Green Belt in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The portico is designed to blend in with the architectural style of the principal facade and takes inspiration from the arched windows on the ground storey. The materials match those used in the existing property and consist of Portland stone, yellow and red stock brickwork with timber windows and a lead clad roof. The portico replaced a small canopy that was inadequate for the owners in practical terms and not in proportion with such a large residence.
